About LynnefromTX
About Me
I’m Lynne, single mom of a beautiful teenage princess from Houston, Texas. My career is in accounting, but my joy and passion is Disney. I include Disney in my everyday life – through twitter, my blog and other blogs and Disney sites. I listen to Disney music and podcasts and speak to my like-minded friends and research Disney history. We have traveled to Disney parks well over 20 times, primarily in Florida, but also in California and Paris. I’ve enjoyed the amazing Adventures by Disney Backstage Magic tour, and can't wait to see the new additions to the Disney Parks in Florida and California
About My Family
My daughter and I live in a small Houston suburb in the middle of the US. Our daily lives stay busy with family, work, and school activities, but we always make room for quality family time. We love to travel to Disneyworld, Europe, and historic US sites. Our favorite way to enjoy WDW is staying at the Polynesian, but any visit to Disneyworld is a Good Thing! We always try new activities at WDW, including tours, special meals, and events - our favorites are the Hoop de Doo Revue and the Living Seas Tour.
My Favorite Disney Parks Memory
We have too many memories to pick just one, but that first glimpse of Cinderella's Castle always takes my breath away! We do have a special family memory though: A few years ago, we took my parents to the Hoop de Doo Revue as a surprise. My dad is a bit of a curmudgeon about Disney, and he was decidedly skeptical about the whole experience. He went along with the plans (especially when he heard fried chicken was involved!)When we were seated, we were delightfully surprised at the table location–.right in the center of the floor! We started our dinner as the lights went down and the music started. Soon the cast came out, including the attractive Ms. Clara, who surprised Dad by sitting in his lap, exclaiming how wonderful it was to see him! She really made over him, and stroked his bright-red face - all the time while the rest of the family were collapsed with laughter. He swears I set him up on purpose (not true!), but it created a wonderful memory.
My Favorite Disney Parks Attraction
While all of the Mountains are special favorites, my heart belongs to the Carousel of Progress - I think of it as "Walt's own design". It is our "end of trip" ride, the one we make sure to go on just before we have to leave the Parks
My Favorite Disney Parks Resort Hotel
My favorite Walt Disney World resort has always been the glorious Polynesian! The location is absolutely perfect - the monorail access, the walking distance to the TTC, and the quick boat access to the Magic Kingdom are unmatched. The rooms are wonderfully and richly appointed and are oversized compared to some of the other resorts. But the absolute cherry on the sundae has to be the lush grounds and decor! We have so many treasured family pictures with gorgeous landscaping in the background, and often use the white sandy beaches to relax and enjoy the Water parade and Fireworks!
